Aatxe (suomeksi)
- Määritelmät:
- A spirit in Basque mythology, the cave-dwelling Aatxe is said to be a shapeshifter, usually taking the form of a young bull, hence the name. Arising from his lair at night, more so in stormy weather, Aatxe attacks malevolent people such as criminals and, in addition, safeguards people by keeping them at home when danger is nearby. Theorised to be a representative of the goddess Mari or an enforcer of her will, the Aatxe myth has its origins dated back to Palaeolithic era.
